About VineWorth

Property-tax appeals, fully automated.

VineWorth is an automated property-tax appeal platform for Cook County homeowners. It analyzes your home against every comparable property in your assessment neighborhood, using the county's own public records, and generates a complete, ready-to-file appeal package in minutes — with no attorney, no contingency fee, and no manual preparation.

Automated end to end · Cook County, Illinois

Why VineWorth exists

Cook County reassesses residential property on a triennial cycle, yet most homeowners never appeal. The process is unfamiliar, and the traditional alternative — engaging a tax firm that charges 33–50% of first-year savings — puts professional-quality appeals out of reach for many households. VineWorth was founded to close that gap. The analysis a firm performs by hand for a handful of properties, the platform performs automatically across an entire assessment neighborhood, in minutes, for a flat fee.

What we built

VineWorth is an automated property-tax appeal platform. It ingests Cook County's public assessment and sales data, runs a comparables analysis against your parcel, and generates a complete, ready-to-file appeal package: the comparable analysis, the valuation argument, and the forms the county requires. The entire package is produced by software, end to end — which is why it takes minutes rather than weeks, and why it costs $99 rather than a share of your savings.

How VineWorth works

01

County data is ingested

The platform retrieves current assessment records, property characteristics, and sales history for your parcel and every comparable home in your assessment neighborhood, directly from Cook County's public datasets.

02

The model selects comparables

The analysis engine evaluates thousands of nearby properties — weighing square footage, age, construction class, lot size, and recent sales — and identifies the set that best supports your case.

03

Your package is generated

The platform assembles the complete filing — comparable analysis, valuation argument, and every required form — formatted, populated, and ready to submit, with no manual preparation at any step.

04

You file directly

VineWorth is not a law firm and does not file on your behalf. You submit the package directly to Cook County, typically in about 10 minutes. There is no contingency fee, so any reduction you win is entirely yours.

Our business model

VineWorth charges a flat $99 per generated appeal package — that is the entire business model. We do not take a percentage of your savings, we do not sell your data, and we do not charge you if the analysis does not support an appeal. If the public data indicates you do not have a case, the platform says so and you pay nothing.

Who's behind VineWorth

JT Jake Troy, Founder of VineWorth

Jake Troy

Founder · Wellesley, MA

Jake founded VineWorth after seeing how many homeowners overpay on property taxes because the appeal process is opaque and professional help is costly. He designed and built the platform and leads all aspects of the company. VineWorth is a bootstrapped, single-founder company by design — the software does the analytical work.
